Turmeric Tea packed with anti-oxidants and anti-inflammatory properties

Many parts of the world are currently living through uncertain and troubling times, where we are unsure about the best way to protect ourselves and our loved ones. During this time, self-care and general wellbeing is hugely important. For those of us who will be spending more time at home over the next few weeks, take this opportunity to look after yourself both physically and emotionally.

This recipe for comforting Turmeric Tea is just the thing for a cold day spent indoors. The ingredients are loaded with antibacterial and antiviral properties and their anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties will not only give your complexion a boost, they will also help strengthen your immune system.

Ingredients

2 cups of milk (dairy free works just as well. We love Oatley!
1 tbsp of local honey (optional)
1 tbsp of coconut oil (optional)
1 tsp ground turmeric
1 Cinnamon stick or 1 tsp of ground cinnamon
small pinch of black pepper and grated ginger (fresh is best)

Method

Simply pour all the ingredients into a small saucepan and bring to the boil. Whisk to combine all the ingredients. Reduce heat to low and simmer for up to ten minutes. Strain the milk if you have large pieces of ginger, cinnamon etc. Serve warm with a dash of honey.
